Antioch

"It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians
Acts 11 : 26

Upon attending this seminar (and initiation I guess), I learned, realized, and experienced a lot of things. Things that aren't found anywhere.

It was my friend Rose, who's the one invited me to join. At first I think that I might feel awkward and out of place there because I don't know anyone from the member of Antioch as well as the candidates except from her. That was true, I felt it, but only for the first moments. Then after some activities, I made a lot of friends and I'm feeling comfortable already. Awkward feelings' no more, just enjoyment.

Dec. 20
For the first night, it's quite boring but as the time pass, it's getting exciting more and more. Me and some new friends were assigned to sleep at tatay Fykes' (Mam Panganiban's husband) house, we're all boys.  I can hardly sleep for the first night even though I'm tired, maybe because I feel a little strange about the surroundings.

Dec. 21
The second day was great. We listened to the talk givers and learned things that are related about God of course. And for the night, it's PARTY PARTY!!! >:))

Dec. 22
The 3rd, just like the second day is listening to the talk givers and sharing also. At that night, is our graduation. Thanks God, I'm one of the candidates that passed and became a new Antiocher.

It is God's advance Christmas gift for me. :)

Thanks everyone from Antioch Silab.

As a token of passing the 3 days seminar and becoming a new
member of Antioch community, this cross was given.

Wasak Waltz!

Wasak Waltz is 8th track of In Love and War, album collaborated by Francis M and Ely Buendia. I first heard it on GMA 7's Party Pilipinas when Ely guested last Sunday. Since then, I got hooked on this song.

Lyrics:

Eto na naman
Panahon ng tag-ulan
Di maiiwasan sa buhay nino man
Tulad mo rin ako
Isang pulo sa dagat
Na walang hanggan
Naghahanap ng masisilungan

Sa dinami-dami ng lugar
Ay dito pa nagkita
Gaano nga ba katagal
Ako’y tumatanda na

Pagkakataong tulad nito
Di dapat pinapalampas
Sabay nating harapin
Ang pag-asa ng bukas

Itaas ang kamay
At iwagayway
Masarap mabuhay
Itaob na ang tagay
Saan ka man pumunta
Meron man o wala
Diyan nagsisimula
Ang wasak na pagsasamahan

Pagkakataong tulad nito
Di dapat pinapalampas
Sa sakit na dinadala
Isa lang ang ating lunas

Itaas ang kamay
At iwagayway
Masarap mabuhay
Itaob na ang tagay
Saan ka man pumunta
Meron man o wala
Diyan nagsisimula
Ang wasak na pagsasamahan

Salamat:

Fried Chicken!

Walang kokontra! HAHA :P

Sh*t! Wala nang Jimmy Neutron, Spongebob at Avatar sa CH 5. T_T

Erik Mana

Erik Mana (born September 16, 1972) is a professional magician and mentalist.

Mana was born in Manila and raised in Toronto, Canada. He is best known for his two television specials Stranger and Mastermind, which aired on a local and international Filipino channel.

He is one of my idols in magic. I like his style on how he present magic. He's very mysterious. Thanks to facebook and yahoo, I was able to get a chance to interview him online. :)

Here's my short interview with Erik Mana:

Is Erik Mana your real name?
- Erik Mana is my stage name. I keep my real name private.

Kelan po kayo nagstart mag-magic?
- I started learning magic when I was 8 years old.

What is the first trick you have learned? Where did you learned it?
- My first trick was with two pennies. Another kid from my neighborhood taught it to me.

Magic or mentalism?
- If you are asking which I prefer - I equally like both. They are very different from each other and thats why I like them both. I grew up with magic and evolved into mentalism. I am, however, more fascinated with mentalism on a more psychological level. I've always been fascinated with the human condition and what makes people tick.

Favorite foreign and local magician/mentalist:
- Derren Brown is my favorite mentalist. But for magicians, there are too many to mention.
- I have many local magician friends that are very good - it would be unfair to single one out.

Aside from sleight of hand magic and mentalism, do you also do card flourishes ala-Dan and Dave?
- Yes. I have studied flourishes from the likes of Dan and Dave as well as other magicians. I have also created my own flourishes.

Any magic group you belong to?
- I belong to S.A.M. (The Society of American Magicians). I do not belong to any magic group locally.

Being one of the best magician in our country, have you ever tried to give lectures in a convention here in the Philippines?
- Thank you for the compliment. I am currently looking into giving a lecture to a small group of serious performers only. Nothing is confirmed yet, but I will let everyone know.

What can you say about magic scene in the Philippines?
- Very promising. In the past few years, I've seen magic grow very fast here in the Philippines. I'm proud to say that I was part of that growth. When I came to the Philippines 9 years ago, the magic scene was defined by only a small handful of magicians - many of them still in the old school frame of mind. It was a dying art form here, but not anymore. Today, there are thousands out there and many of them very good. These new magicians are giving magic an new face and it is very promising.

Stranger or Mastermind? Why?
- Both. I had my reasons for doing both so differently. Stranger was my own introduction to the Philippines - it was more light hearted. MasterMind, however, delve deeper into my own personality. I like the darkness of MasterMind. I had a lot of fun doing both.
- Yes. I do plan on producing another magic special soon. I will let everyone know of our progress.

That's all! Thank you very much po! Last question pa pala po, san makakabili ng Stranger at Mastermind VCD?
Your welcome. Unfortunately, Stranger was never released and MasterMind has become quite underground. Very hard to find now. Anyway, thank you for your questions. Good luck in your pursuit in magic! God bless!

"Everything you can imagine is real..." -Picasso (A quote from Erik Mana's reply)

May Days...

Nanay Ising's 18th, I mean 81st birthday last May 5. We had so much fun together.

A very hot, with some ambon summer day of May , we went swimming to celebrate my Lola's birthday together with my cousins, tito and titas in my mother's side.

More birthdays to come po! :)

05.10.10- Ako ay bumoto :D

For this day, I requested for a rest day because I want to be updated for the happenings. But my manager said "di ka naman watcher e", that's why my request was not granted. :(

My schedule for that day was 8:00AM-4:00PM but extended up to past 5 o' clock. I came home about 6:00PM and have some rest for a minute before I went to Naic Elementary School to vote.

May 21- After 5 years, Jaymes came home.

He left Philippines when I was in 2nd year high school. 5 years past, nothing has change. Were still a power tripper. >:D

03.20.10

Slowly but surely kumbaga. Magic! LOL Ayun, may natutunan naman.

Lesson no. 1: Huwag pababayaan ang susi.

Lesson no.3: Wag kalimutan magpasalamat sa taong mababait!

Dinedma nila kmi. Hmp!

Jollibee!

First day ko sa Jollibee.

Basta parang ganon kasi eh.

Yung kantang natugtog, paulit-ulit nakakairita. Yun kay Justin Bieber, di ko alam kung ano title, yun jingle din ng jollibee pati yun Empire State of Mind ni Jay-Z. Yun Empire State of Mind lang ang okay eh.

Halos mag 11:00 PM na ko naka-uwi. Medyo nakakapagod. Buti bukas rest day ako haha... Sa isang araw, closing nanaman. tsk! Ay, pasado alas-dose na. Jojo A. na ngayon, namiss ko manood nito. Paborito kong show to noong nasa QTV11 pa ito, kaso nun nalipat sa TV5 ay di na ko masyado nakakapanuod. Feb. 25 na din pala ngayon. Araw ng paggunita ng EDSA Revolution.
Happy birthday nga pala kay Lysa. :D

Nacionalista Party's Campaign in Naic, Cavite

Yesterday (February 12 ,2010), Manny Villar and his running mate Loren Legarda with other senatorial candidates of Nacionalista Party came to campaign here in Naic, Cavite. Me and my lola (supporter of MV), went there to listen to their speech. She would like to see Manny Villar in person and I also want to hear his speech. Unfortunately, Manny Villar didn't have his speech and leave the campaign earlier than Loren and others that's why we didn't have a chance to see Manny Villar. A black Ford Expedition conveyed him to Barangay Balsahan where his helicopter is waiting. Among who left and able to present their speech were Ramon Mitra, Bongbong Marcos, Gilbert Remulla and his two brothers, Adel Tamano, Gwen Pimentel, Susan Ople's daughter, Ariel Querubin's son and Loren Legarda. Gilbert is their introducer. All of them are great public speakers. They all end their speech the same by saying "Manny Villar for president, Loren Legarda for vice president" and then their name for senator.

Noynoy for president! :3

The Boy in the Iceberg

So, this will be my first blog entry. Honestly, I don't have any knowledge about blogging. I don't even know why I decided to start my own and the fact that I personally don't like reading and writing stuff. Maybe it's because of my everyday boredom. After making of Patrick, Squidward, and Spongebob's house out of clay now is the time for my fingers to make their own shining moment Ü Now is my turn to try blogging. Anyway, my first entry will be about Aang. :)

Maybe the title sounds familiar for some Avatar (The Legend of Aang ) fans out there like me. Yes, I got it from Avatar's very first episode, (Book 1 Water Episode 1 The Boy in the Iceberg) where Sokka and Katara found Aang after getting stucked for 100 years in the iceberg.

Since my nose is bleeding and my brain is getting painful already of thinking what to write, I'll just post the overview of Avatar's first episode "The Boy in the Iceberg". :D

While fishing, Sokka and Katara discover Aang and his flying bison Appa trapped in an iceberg. After freeing him, they discover that Aang is an Airbender, a race of people that were believed to have died out long ago. Meanwhile, Zuko, the banished Prince of the Fire Nation, is patrolling the seas in search of the Avatar, the only person who can stop the Fire Nation from winning the war. While exploring an abandoned Fire Nation ship, Katara tells Aang about the war, which has been going on for the past 100 years. They accidentally set off a trap, alerting Zuko to the village.

and this is how my very first entry ends. Ü *nosebleed*
